Zero Tolerance to Plastic Knives

Do I have to explain this one? I’m also not very keen on plastic forks. Especially the little ones packaged within the ready-to-eat salads. This is how it goes.

Imagine a plastic bowl.

Find the tiniest, most awkward to use plastic fork and place it at the bottom of the plastic bowl.

Add a sachet with bunch of croutons and a pouch with sauce (whatever flavour that rocks your taste buds).

Fill the bowl with green leaves, tomatoes, cucumbers and whatnots.

Anyone else sees the problem here?

Not only this whole arrangement doesn’t make any sense, it is also promoting and contributing towards pollution. Plastic is bad! Though I do kinda love it….the contradictions of the modern world…

Zero Tolerance to Loud Puffing, Huffing and Growling in the Gym

My gym is primarily visited by office people so there is not much huffing and puffing going on there. I don’t really know many bodybuilders with day jobs in banking. I don’t really know any bodybuilders full stop. I’ve only met one, actor Rob Archer and he is an absolute sweetheart.

Anyway, I’m not saying iron pumping is a synonym for making random lound scary sounds. It is more of the macho attitude that comes with it that I have a problem with. So when someone like that comes to my gym, he will get noticed. Dude, you’re not there alone.

What should be also noticed is the ongoing LGBT discrimination.

And I couldn’t help it – crazy picture with Rob Archer 🙂

Zero Tolerance to Jammed Printers

Although we are more or less living in a paperless age, there are still occasions where documents need to be printed. For me, an avarage office rat, this is a daily necessity.

So when one of those killing trees moments arrives and the printer just refuses to cooperate it is frustrating. I am not a patient person at best of times and there might have been occurances when I was threatening to smash the misbehaving printer with a hammer.

.

I couldn’t think of a serious issue starting with ‘J’ so please let me know in comments below if there is something that bothers you.

Zero Tolerance to Hiccups

Hiccup – an involuntary spasm of the diaphragm and respiratory organs, with a sudden closure of the glottis and a characteristic gulping sound.

Worst of all, most cases of hiccups occur for no apparent reason. But these might be according to NHS some of the triggers:

  • drinking alcohol
  • smoking
  • having a bloated stomach
  • eating too quickly or eating spicy foods
  • drinking hot or fizzy drinks
  • swallowing air – for example, while chewing gum
  • a sudden change in room temperature
  • a sudden change in the temperature inside your stomach – for example, eating something hot followed by a cold drink
  • emotions, such as stress, fear or excitement

Right. Hiccups is one of those conditions I can’t deal with. I don’t get hiccups often. But when I do, you would think I’m having a heart attack for all the tantrums that I’m throwing. Usually drinking lots of water helps. Without breathing. Drinking until you are almost drowning. Not pleasant. Therefore I have done bit of a research on the good old web and found few other interesting suggestions. The winning one is pulling your tongue out. Just the visual makes it for me.

On the other hand, there worse conditions human beings can find themselves.

Homelessness – Crisis

Zero Tolerance to Gore

Just to get it out there, I do not watch horror films. I know people who love them and they love getting scared (in safe environment of the cinema or their homes). I hate being scared and as this is my personal list of things I cannot stand, gruesome grossness on TV screens is on it. Especially as gruesome stuff is allowed while boobs and willies are a taboo.

In connection to the male and female parts – don’t we think that they should have the opportunity to be presented in equal measures?

Hence my other issue for G is gender inequality.

Zero Tolerance to Fake Smiles

Thanks to our business partner, I found myself at a very posh London cosmetics store couple of months ago. I only went because I was riddled with curiosity  but wouldn’t visit the shop otherwise. I will probably visit it again because they have the most amazing scented candles on the planet. Green tomato vine. Trust me. It is unbelievable. It comes with a hefty price tag but lasts forever and makes for a very beautiful gift.

Anyway, the point of this post is to bitch about stuff. The ladies working there were immaculate to the point I was wondering if they’re humanoids. They looked alike, they have been born from the same corporate womb after all. They were pleasant, helpful, attentive and smiled ALL THE TIME! Their smiles were imprinted on their faces. I was observing them when they were not dealing with customers and their facial muscles stayed stiff in the same smiley grimace.  I have found it  rather disturbing. How much training does it require to wipe out the ability to show emotions? Can they cry? Frown? Be angry? Upset? Indifferent? Thoughtful? Do they remember how to be real?

What however should be wiped out completely is FGM. This procedure is barbaric beyond imagination, and thousands of women are suffering because of it for the rest of their lives. What I find deeply disturbing is that the mutilation is not only performed by women but also approved them in certain communities.
